David Franco Mesa
Attorney
David Franco Mesa joined Malott Law PLC as a law clerk in the summer of 2024 and became an attorney with the firm in October 2025 after earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law.
During law school, David served as Vice President of the Hispanic and Latino Law Student Association and worked as a student attorney and interpreter with the Immigration Advocacy and Federal Impact Litigation Clinics. His work in these roles deepened his commitment to serving immigrant communities and advocating for fair and humane immigration policies.
At Malott Law PLC, David represents clients in a wide range of immigration matters, including removal defense before the Immigration Court, family-based immigration petitions, and humanitarian relief cases such as those under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and U Visas. David is fluent in Spanish and French.
Prior to attending law school in the United States, David earned his Colombian J.D. from Universidad del Rosario, Facultad de Jurisprudencia, in Bogotá, Colombia, in 2022. He then practiced corporate law for a year, advising businesses of various sizes on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance compliance, and financial strategy.
David is admitted to practice law in Florida and Colombia.
